In September 2018, Ms. Ledesma joined trial firm, Shelton Mckean. The firm specializes in all facets of trial work. As one of the paralegals at the firm, Ms. Ledesma assists in the prosecution and defense of various civil matters pending before Florida Courts and Florida Federal Courts.

Ms. Ledesma was the Senior Paralegal for The Bernstein Law Firm. The firm specializes in commercial litigation, corporate law and real estate matters.  As the Senior Paralegal, Ms. Ledesma independently manages, oversees and assist attorneys and professional staff in the prosecution and defense of various matters pending before lower tribunal Florida Courts and Florida Federal Courts as well as various jurisdictions**. Specifically, Ms. Ledesma is responsible for managing/tracking cases in all stages of litigation and preparing motions, notices, correspondence, discovery, and responses thereto in accordance with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure/Federal Rules of Civil Procedure** and Court’s orders.  Moreover, preparing attorneys for depositions/hearings and trial by way of organizing, reviewing, procuring, and bates labeling large amounts of discovery and tabbing documents accordingly, procuring case law and relevant statutes cited, researching local rules/Judge’s procedures to ensure documents are timely submitted via the Court’s preferred method.

In addition, Firm is General Counsel for both small private entities and large public entities who own various properties throughout Florida. As such, Ms. Ledesma works with Clients to assist in the fulfillment of their corporate and business needs by  registering entities with Florida Division of Corporations and assisting in the preparation and filing of corporate documents as needed, as well as obtaining EIN’s.

**Note: Firm handles cases in multiple jurisdictions: NY, NJ and CA, various United States District Courts, Florida Supreme Court, Florida Appellate Courts and AAA. 

Administrative Responsibilities: In conjunction to the aforementioned, Ms. Ledesma is highly familiar with the in’s and out’s of the daily operations of a law firm which includes billing and invoicing clients and assisting attorneys in connection to the same, logging and maintaining cost, and billing and collecting invoices.

Prior to The Bernstein Law Firm, Ms. Ledesma was a Paralegal at the firm Stok Folk and Kon. Stok Folk and Kon specializes in commercial litigation, corporate law and real estate law. Responsibilities included the same as mentioned for The Bernstein Law Firm with the exception that the majority of the work performed at this Firm was limited to commercial litigation before the Southern District of Florida and lower tribunal Florida courts.

Prior to Stok Folk and Kon, Ms. Ledesma was a Legal Assistant at Amaury Cruz, P.A. Amaury Cruz, P.A. specialized in intellectual property, business law and commercial litigation.  This career path served as Ms. Ledesma’s inspiration to continue in the paraprofessional direction. During this time period, Ms. Ledesma received an invaluable amount of exposure; specifically in the area of intellectual property which reinforced Ms. Ledesma’s resilience and ability to thrive in new environments and embrace and tackle challenges. As the Firm’s only Legal Assistant, Ms. Ledesma assisted three attorneys in registering trademarks, maintaining registered trademarks and filing documents in compliance with USPTO requirements and rules. In addition to, Ms. Ledesma assisted attorneys in the prosecution and defense of approximately various cases pending before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, Southern District of Florida and lower tribunal Florida Courts. Specifically, Ms. Ledesma was responsible for tracking cases in all stages of litigation and preparing motions, notices, correspondence in accordance with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure/Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Court’s orders. At the early age of 20, Ms. Ledesma began her career in the legal field as a Legal Assistant for Spiegel and Utrera, P.A. Unbeknowst to Ms. Ledesma, this path would build a foundation in Ms. Ledesma’s career and future.  As the Firm’s Legal Assistant, Ms. Ledesma assisted attorneys and professional staff in the prosecution and defense of various matters pending before lower tribunal Florida Courts and Florida Federal Courts as well as various jurisdictions**. Specifically, Ms. Ledesma was responsible for managing/tracking cases in all stages of litigation as drafting motions, notices, correspondence, discovery and responses thereto in accordance with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure/Federal Rules of Civil Procedure** and Court’s orders. Moreover, Ms. Ledesma assisted in the research of local rules/Judge’s procedures to ensure documents were timely submitted in the preferred method to the Court.
